Clean Fantasy Recommendations
Check out the below authors for some incredible stories to swallow you whole.
Lindsay Franklin
E.A. is constantly recommending The Story Peddler for an immersive, creative fantasy adventure with romance. A magic storyteller's tales turn into crystallized sculptures to sell, but when Tanwen accidentally spills a tale of treason from her fingertips, she earns a target on her back. Oh, and did we mention pirates? Incredible world and characters, and a re-read for sure. Also, try The Unraveling of Emlyn DuLaine for a more storybook vibe fantasy by Lindsay!
Ted Dekker
E.A.'s favorites: The Circle Trilogy (not Green—I hate Green, but the trilogy itself is amazing and Black in particular is one of E.A.'s favorite fast opens in fiction!); also Blink and Kiss.
Jennifer Kropf
The Scarlet Star was a must-keep-reading-while-brushing-teeth sort of book for E.A.; highly recommend! Check out Jenn's other books like Welcome to Fae Cafe for hilarity and coziness, or A Soul as Cold as Frost for a Christmas vibe fantasy series.
Honour Rae
Highly recommend All the Skills! E.A. listened to this one on audio and it was fantastic. Getting the next one is nonnegotiable.
Brady Hunsaker
The Depths of Vanalf, but all of Brady's books are safe and stacked with adventure!
Andrew Givler
Ironbound was incredible. Fantastic progression fantasy with depth and movement. Prose and pacing are phenomenal, with amazing worldbuilding and beautiful nuances between characters. Book 2 is on E.A.'s current must-read list.
Note: Some language included. None for about 90 pages, and maybe 5-10 mentions total in the book; D**m curse word and the b****** for illegitimate son.
Nadine Brandes
E.A. really enjoyed Wishtress in particular, but there are multiple great stories here to enjoy!
D.E. Carlson
To Bind Fire trilogy
Seth Ring
Dive into any number of Seth's fantasy LitRPG series, from Battle Mage Farmer to Exlian Syndrome, Iron Tyrant, Titan, Tower, Dreamer's Throne, and Soul Caller. Every single one is clean, wholesome fantasy adventure.
Z.S. Diamanti
Guard in the Garden, Stone & Sky series
Mary Mecham
Epic fantasy retellings of classic fairy tales you'll love to misremember, Mecham offers clean romantic fantasy that'll keep you up page after page.
Morgan Busse
Start with Mark of the Raven, and "one more page" might turn into "one more book" as you get hooked.
Leigh Bardugo
E.A. enjoyed the Shadow and Bone trilogy, and loved the King of Scars duology even more!
Stephanie Garber
The Caraval and Once Upon a Broken Heart books are fast-paced, fascinating, and heavily focused on the romance. Heads up, romantic tension is higher than some of the other books on this list, with a lot of lip-biting sort of kisses included.
